At the occasion of the International Women  Day’s week, UNRCPD and IANSA hosted an online seminar gathering parliamentarians, civil society representatives, and practitioners from the region on Gun Violence and Illicit Small Arms Trafficking from a Gender Perspective in Asia-Pacific. Participants discussed the progress made in promoting a gender-responsive framework in small arms control and complementary agendas in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. They also presented upcoming projects in the field of small arms control. Finally, UNRCPD and IANSA officially launched their recently published briefing paper “Reinvigorating Gender-Responsive Small Arms Control in the Wake of the COVID-19 Pandemic in Asia and the Pacific”.
